Documentary films about history always have a relationship to the present. At their best, they can influence the future. We hear from acclaimed directors Sam Pollard (Eyes on the Prize, TIFF 2020 selection MLK/FBI) and Shola Lynch (Chisholm ’72: Unbought and Unbossed, Free Angela and All Political Prisoners) as they discuss exploring the lives of figures such as Shirley Chisholm, Angela Davis, Martin Luther King, Jr., and J. Edgar Hoover.
